To: The Church

My heart has been hurting lately thinking about how the church needs to step up (This is more for me than anyone...a pep talk). There are so many hurting people in this world and we are all unaware of what another person is going through just by seeing them every once in a while. Acquaintances won't be good enough, we must delve into peoples life with reckless abandonment, being willing to take the chance of being rejected.

Lately I have been thinking about the people that I encounter at school and I just think about that Mother who is praying for their child to not go down the wrong path and who want so badly for their child to meet men and women of God who can encourage and direct their child. I think about the sister who is praying their sibling to encounter God in a real way. I think about the Grandma who is praying for someone to come into the life of their Grandchild and truly disciple them. We are their answer to prayer!!!!! I don't want to stand by anymore and let hurting people slip through my life. God has a huge call on everyones life to reach out and to share His love, it's not an just a suggestion but a command.

Remember there are people in the Church that you see every time you go to church that need you to reach out to their broken heart. They may look like they are fine but they are pleading inside for someone to care. Just because someone gets saved doesn't mean that's it, people need to be discipled they need to be taught the ways of Christ and be guided in the decisions they make.

Matthew 28:19 says "Therefore go and make DISCIPLES of all nations..." The definition of disciple is, One who embraces and assists in spreading the teachings of another. Guys we know the truth, the truth that EVERYONE on earth is trying to find. They are just looking in all the wrong places.

Church is the body of Christ, we are his hands and feet and if we are not obeying what God is asking us then His work will not get done. Let's not get side tracked on what the Church is all about, it's not about seeing how many people can cram into our services, it's not about how much money we can raise to do_________ (fill in the blank), it's not about how good the preaching and worship is, and not that there is anything wrong with these things, they are good and are used to bring about glory for God. BUT it cannot be our focus. PEOPLE must be our focus. We must strive to disciple people...be willing to dig deeper than just the surface. People who are hurting want help, they desire it but sometimes don't know where to go or what to do.

The only way to make people our focus and to truly be God's hands and feet it to seek God with all of our heart and to ask his Holy Spirit to guide and direct us. He must be first in our heart and lives before we will be able to do anything for him. Please, lets get on our hands and knees before the Lord and plead for His mercy and guidance. Intercede for those who are lost and pray that they will find the truth ad pray that The Church would be used in a deeper greater way than ever before!!!

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
