I love the holidays!!!!

Thanksgiving this year was more of a whirlwind of sorts. Shawn and I drove to Waco on Wednesday but before we arrived we ventured on over to Fort Worth to pick of Jordan's Christmas present; A Bike!!! He will love it. Then we arrived at Grandmommy's at 2:30. Shawn immediately went to Cameron Park to go biking. I stayed to visit with Grandmommy and then started making some journals. The rest of the family arrived at 7 and it was a surprise that Uncle Joe and Stephanie were there, no one told us they were going to be there, BUT what a great surprise it was. There was no dinner made for everyone and I think it caused Grandmommy to stress a bit, but shortly after they were fed and then we went to bed, getting ready for the next morning of cooking.

Shawn and I woke up at 7am and went biking. (Can I note that it was 71 degrees as we departed?) We only went biking for a half an hour because Shawn had a tube break in his back tire and then I had a tube in my front tire bust. Those trails are vicious! All-in-all I think we went through 5 tubes. The trails were amazing though! As we went back to Grandmommy's, at 9:30, the temperature was 46 degrees! I just can't get used to this Texas weather, changing so quickly!

Then I started cooking, one of my favorite things, I made the baked corn, mash potatoes and an apple pie. Yum! By 2pm the food was ready but Uncle Jay, who does not have a cell phone, was not there. So we started to eat without him. Delicious meal! I did miss my norther stuffing though...I can't get used to this dressing stuff. The rest of the day was pretty lazy as we went into a turkey coma. Sleep did not find us though as we played with all the kidos. Shawn and I took them to the park where we played on the play ground and then played hide-n-go seek! So much fun! Then we came back and drank hot chocolate and played risk. One may think that is quite a commitment playing such a long game, but playing with a 9 and 12 year old, the game goes pretty quickly. I concurred the world in about an hour and a half. After that we played nerts.

The next day Shawn took Jordan biking and they biked 10 miles! Christi and I went shopping to see what deals were left at 8am. I did find a pair of kids boots for $17.99! I am glad I fit in them. When we got back Shawn and I went biking for 9 miles! Shawn was pretty tired that night. After we ate we packed our cars up and headed home.

I am so thankful for family and for fun times. This year I know that God is doing such great things in Shawn's side of the family. Shawn's step aunt has recently rededicated her life to Christ and when we were with her it was like being with a brand new person. (Thank you Jesus for what you are doing in their lives). God was a common thread for all of us there, which I felt brought more unity.
