Failing isn't the worst thing...
Failing really isn't such a bad thing, at least that is what I have been hearing everywhere I turn. Which is a good thing seeing as I am afraid of failing; a quality I wish I didn't have. I learned that President Abraham Lincoln ran 4 times for presidency before he was elected. Thomas Edison was told by his teacher that he was stupid and would amount to nothing. Michael Jordan was cut from the basketball team(!!!). Walt Disney failed in his first cartoon series in Kansas city.
This is all very encouraging to me, because I know with the doubts that I have about me becoming a mathematics teacher there is hope that I will make it. I just have to make sure that I do not give up. Even if there are other people around me who are betting money that I'll fail, I won't listen to them. And if I do fail, I will keep taking the classes until I pass them. I don't care if I am in school for 4 more years!! The professors will be so sick of seeing me they may just pass me to get me out of there! Haha!
Now that I know failing really isn't that bad I can rest a little easier going into finals week. Not that this is an excuse to slack off and not do well, but I don't have to have the pressure of school being the biggest thing of my life! I can't wait until there is a time when I can say, "man, college wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it was". Until then, I'll pray for strength and endurance.
I am praying for all of you with finals just around the corner! (I am so glad we have God on our side!!!)
